Computing :: Trevor Pythagoras
Welcome
Trevor pythagoras am attempted origami penguin by aaron (which i electricuted), for some reason i decided i was going to make a trevor pythagoras game which is now the focus of this section of my site.
The game is a verey simple 2D platform game(single palyer). I have written it in a java so that it will be able to run on mulitpleplatforms and i should be able to make it into an applet that i can run embedded in a webpage, so all of you can play it :). Rather stupidy ive written it as an application so some time soon ill have to work out how to convert it into a fully working applet and then you should be able to play online
About the game itself
The main of the game is to complete each level. each level will have 2 parts, a normal stage and a boos stage, like alot of games. The aim in the normal stage is to collect triangles (wich give you points) and make it to the exit without running out of health. You can then (once ive made a boss level) trade your points for weapons to help you defeat the boss.
Its a 2D platform game so you have all your normall things like jumping and falling off platforms. There a number of special objects, like springs that fire you into the air, around the game. You can also collect hearts(for health) and of course triangles. Soon you will also be able to get special affects. The are a number fo things that will hurt you like fish and spikes so try to avoid these.
How can I play it
At the moment you basiclly cant. I havent got round to creating any levels(other than the test ones) for you to play as ive been concentrating on producing the programming that runs, controlls and displays the game. Also i havnt converted it to an applet yet so i cant dispaly it in a webpage.
However if you are intrested you can download the source code and the complied classes from the link at the top of this page. To play the game extract the files and run playplayplay.bat(or you can navigate to the folder and type "java game"). This will load the testing screen and you can play the normall stage of the level1.
If you can program in java try creating your own level by extending the level class and using a function(probably the one that runs when new "youclass" is called) define the layout of a level. If you succed in making yourself a good level count you please email it to me at woodford_4@hotmail.co.uk and ill include it in the donwloadable(and soon the applet) version, if you want ill also put a link to your site(ull have to send me that too). Thanxs
